Kaeli & Jordan’s Golden Hour Engagement Session at Lory State Park | Fort Collins Engagement Photographer
There are some sessions where everything just falls into place, and Kaeli and Jordan’s engagement session was exactly that. We met at Lory State Park in Fort Collins just before golden hour, and Colorado absolutely showed off for us. The warm summer light, sweeping mountain views, and Horsetooth Reservoir sparkling in the background created the dreamiest setting for their engagement photos.
From the moment we started walking the trails, these two couldn’t stop smiling at each other. They made my job so easy because they were simply enjoying this season of life together. One of my favorite things about engagement sessions is incorporating little pieces of each couple’s story, and Kaeli and Jordan did just that. They brought along a stack of books, which made for some cozy, playful moments that felt completely authentic to them. We laughed, wandered through the fields, chased the sunset, and captured so many candid moments along the way. Of course, we couldn’t end the evening without celebrating! As the sun dipped behind the mountains, they popped a bottle of champagne overlooking Horsetooth Reservoir, and it was the perfect way to toast to their next adventure together. There were plenty of laughs, champagne flying everywhere, and the biggest smiles as they soaked in the moment.
What made this session even sweeter is knowing that I’ll be photographing their wedding this September in Fort Collins. Their wedding colors—terracotta and green—blended so beautifully with the natural colors of Lory State Park. Between the golden grasses, earthy rock formations, and lush greenery, it almost felt like the landscape had been designed specifically for their wedding vision. As a Fort Collins engagement photographer, Lory State Park continues to be one of my favorite locations. It offers incredible mountain views, beautiful open spaces, and stunning golden-hour light that never disappoints. Whether you’re looking for adventurous scenery or romantic Colorado landscapes, it’s one of the best engagement photo locations in Northern Colorado.
